A little bit more about this piece from Jodi...

"I bought this round brilliant Cognac Diamond from my Dahlia ring about two years ago and immediately thought of creating a big and bold, dress or engagement ring showcasing this unique stone. It’s not every day you come across such a special diamond.
.
It’s no secret I’m a big fan of art deco glamour jewellery and my idea was to pay homage to this era while keeping a sleek modern edge to the design and of course my own personal touch.
To create a large statement piece using round brilliant stones, I designed a marquise shaped setting plate to add some dramatic size and geometric contrast to the stones. I don’t often design a marquise shaped ring without any marquise stones but I wanted to create something different and emphasise those opposing shapes and forms. Strong geometric lines and contrasting colours and stones are some of the features I love from the art deco era. I’m also obsessed with the petal formation of dahlia flowers and used that as an added subtle reference. I love using rose gold detailing offset by white gold and diamonds to create different forms and bring attention to specific elements, similar to the petals of some dahlia flower varieties.
.
The inclusion of the two side baguette diamonds act as the anchors holding the plate to the ring and add more variance to the geometry while also adding more bling and more sparkle. The purists and my old uni lecturers would be happy to know that yes the form follows function.
.
I could go on and on about my thought processes in producing my sweet Dahlia so if you have any questions please ask me! Hopefully I’ve given you a little insight into why this is such a special creation to me. I would love to see it become somebody else’s personal treasure one day. 🤎"
